Using the Payment Screen

The Payment Screen is where a cashier completes a sale once all items are added to the order.

Steps

  1. Select a payment method — cash, card, or a configured alternative.
  2. Enter the amount tendered; change due is calculated automatically.
  3. Combine multiple payment methods on a single order if needed (e.g., split cash and card).
  4. Confirm the payment to complete the sale and print or email the receipt.

Order summary on the Payment Screen

The Payment Screen displays a read-only panel on the right showing the order lines, quantities, and prices. This lets a cashier check the contents of the order during checkout without returning to the order screen.

The panel updates as the order changes, up until the payment is finalized.

Note: The order summary panel is available in all POS configurations and requires no setup.

To check a gift card balance:

1. On the Payment screen, select Gift card

2. Enter the card number in Gift card number

3. Click Check balance. The balance appears next to the box, for example "GC-0001 has $25.00 left."

Capitals and spaces in the card number are ignored, as they are when paying.

If the box is blank, the message "Enter the gift card number." appears. If the number does not match a card, the message "No gift card with that number." appears.

Note: Checking a balance changes nothing on the card or the order. The order, the payment method and the typed number are kept.

Gift card balance after payment

When a sale is paid with a gift card, the confirmation ends with the amount left on the card, for example "GC-0001 has $14.72 left." The receipt shows the same amount on a Gift card balance line. Only orders paid by gift card show this line.
