Closing a POS Session

At the end of a shift, a cashier closes their POS session to reconcile the till.

Steps

  1. The system displays the expected cash total based on all transactions during the session.
  2. The cashier counts the physical cash drawer and enters the counted amount.
  3. Any discrepancy between expected and counted totals is flagged for review.
  4. Once the count is confirmed, the session closes and the register is ready for the next shift.

Blind cash counts at closing

Visibility of the expected closing amounts is controlled by the Can see POS closing amounts group. Users in this group see the closing screen with the expected amounts alongside the counted amounts. Users without this group perform a blind closing: the expected cash amounts are hidden and only the counted amounts can be entered. This lets managers or supervisors see the expected totals while cashiers count the drawer without them.

To allow a user to see the expected closing amounts:

1. Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users

2. Open the user

3. On Extra Rights, enable Can see POS closing amounts
